Communities of Practice for all Early Learning and School Age Childcare Services

What is a Community of Practice ?

A Community of Practice is a group of professionals who come together and share knowledge, concerns and passion out an area of practice. Professionals can learn how to improve areas of practice by communicating and collaborating with each other regularly over time and are examples of reflective practice and working collaboratively.

How does a Community of Practice work ?

Early Years Educators and School Age professionals come together to discuss, learn from each other and share strategies in which to better understand or advance a shared passion or area of practice.

The voices and perspectives of all members are reflected in the work of a Community of Practice.

With this in mind Sligo County Childcare Committee will host a meeting to establish a Community of Practice in Sligo. This will take place online on Wednesday 2nd June at 7.00 p.m. I have attached a poster with the details and I would appreciate if you could display this poster in prominent staff areas in your service.

This is a wonderful opportunity for staff to develop professionally and share aspects of their practice of which they are proud. Your support in promoting this vision as we move forward as a sector would be very greatly appreciated.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call on 086 7978512.

A place can be booked by contacting us at sligochildcare@gmail.com.
