AIM Better Start

Work with Early Learning and Care providers to improve quality and create an inclusive environment.

The Quality Development Service

The Quality Development Service provides mentoring and coaching to Early Learning and Care settings, based on the Síolta and Aistear frameworks and Tusla’s Quality and Regulatory Framework (QRF), so that those settings are of high quality and deliver positive outcomes for children.

Access and Inclusion Model

The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) ensures all children, regardless of disability can fully take part in mainstream Early Learning and Care settings. AIM helps these settings create an inclusive environment and provides supports to children to meaningfully participate in Early Learning and Care, including their ECCE programme. Children can apply for AIM support for attendance at full-day Early Learning and Care settings.

Learning and Development

Betterstart work with Early Learning and Care providers to improve quality and create an inclusive environment.

They coordinate the delivery of Continuing Professional Development, including Hanen Teacher Talk, Lámh Module One and Sensory Processing in Early Learning (SPEL) and deliver ‘Aistear & Play’ CPD as part of the National Síolta Aistear Initiative suite of courses supporting the roll out of Aistear. In partnership with Tusla and the HSE, we deliver Early Talk Boost to Equal Start settings.
