Quality
‘Siolta’ the national Quality framework identifies the Principles of Quality as representing the vision which underpins and provides the context for quality practice in ECCE in Ireland.
The aim of Sligo County Childcare Committee is to improve the quality of childcare in Sligo by:
- Promoting and supporting the implementation of service quality programmes among childcare facilities in County Sligo.
- Promoting career potential within the childcare sector and enhance career development opportunities for childcare workers.
- Ensuring recognised quality training standards for childcare workers and facilitating appropriate career progression opportunities.
SCCC strive to meet this objective, in partnership with local, regional and national agencies, through the co-ordination of training, information sessions, seminars and workshops.
Quality is further developed through:
- Daily telephone support
- One to one support visits
- Mailouts
- Signposting
- Advocacy
- Management support
